Portesbery School is an all age day school (3-19 years) catering for children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). Pupils may have additional sensory impairments, physical difficulties or challenging behaviour.

A fresh new look for outdoor learning at Blackdown Preschool.

A team of volunteers from our contractors on Malta Road helped refurbish the schools outdoor area and provided paint and supplies.

We also provided a new mud kitchen, as well as a new storage shed for toys and sports equipment. Outdoor play is vital for building confidence, creativity, and self-esteem, and we hope the children enjoy their upgraded space for years to come.

Blackdown Preschool is a committee-led setting that provides care for children aged between 2-5 years, situated in Mindenhurst.

Father Christmas visits Portesbery School.

During the festive period, Christmas events are typically overwhelming and unsuited to the needs of young people with special educational requirements.

For a second year running, the students of Portesbury School will have the chance to attend a SEND friendly Santa’s grotto in a safe and accessible environment within the school, receiving a visit from Father Christmas, his cheerful elves and adorable animal friends.
